The NeuroActive BrainBike™ is an exercise bike that trains the body and brain for fitness. The BrainBike™ was engineered by Dr. Stephane Bergeron, MD, president of Brain Center America (BCA), and a team of international brain specialists. It is designed to improve user’s memory, concentration, multitasking, and a complete range of mental abilities while providing a cardio workout – for both the body and mind.

The BrainBike™ is one of the newest and most exciting innovations in the fitness market. While riding a stationary cardio-exercise bike, you use the interactive brain-training software displayed on the computer screen for your mental conditioning. You can choose from 22 brain-stimulating exercises to train different parts of the brain:

Semantic Categorization

Selective Attention

Hand Eye Coordination

Visual Scanning

Behavioral Inhibition

Cognitive Control

Planning

Behavioral Flexibility

Working Memory

Arithmetic

Episodic Memory

Temporal Order Memory

Visual-spatial Skills

Temporal Perception

Word Naming

Processing Speed

More and more evidence is pointing toward the fact that by challenging the brain through specific exercises one can improve areas of brain function that often diminish with age. The BrainBike™ can offer anyone over the age of 10 the ability to improve these basic functions and thus improve life. Dr. John Jonides, from the University of Michigan, presented new findings at the Association for Psychological Science in Washington, DC, on May 28, 2011, showing that as few as 20 days of working memory training can improve more complex reasoning and problem-solving abilities, known collectively as fluid intelligence.

What clients are saying at one fitness center in Colorado after using the BrainBike™

During a recent demo of the BrainBike™ at the Chilson Recreation Center in Loveland, Colorado, we conducted a survey to get people’s feedback on their perceptions. The responses to the survey were very positive:

100% of the respondents reported enjoying using the BrainBike™, with 85% rating the experience as great.

Over 90% rated the NeuroActive™ software on the BrainBike™ as great or good.

88% reported that it was very easy or easy to understand, use, and interact with the BrainBike™.

90% reported that they would definitely tell someone about the BrainBike™.

95% recommended that the facility purchase one.

80% of the respondents were female and in an age range of 20-60+.

Comments included:

I was able to ride longer and further without really paying attention to the ride.

Fun, I forgot I was working out.

I enjoyed the bike and brain activity. It was fun to challenge your brain at the same time I was working out.

Exercises are great. I would love to have one at home.

It was fun to engage my mind while exercising. I would be more apt to exercise because I get to do something else at the same time.

This kept my workout interesting and time went by fast.

I hope our center gets a BrainBike™ because it was fun and challenging. I worry about memory loss, and now I have something that helps me improve in that area. How exciting!

I didn’t realize I pedaled so long – it kept me busy. What a great workout!

“It has been a pleasure to demo the BrainBike the last few weeks! We have had an very positive response to it from our guests. They find it easy to use & many remark that they ‘forget they are working out!’ If funding becomes available, we will definitely consider adding a BrainBike to our floor;” says Ashlee Taylor, Facility Manager of Chilson Recreation Center.

The BrainBike™ is a unique piece of fitness equipment that can make exercising go quickly while enjoying the benefits of a brain and cardio workout. The research is becoming clearer that challenging the brain can produce long-lasting positive effects on brain functions. Any fitness center purchasing a BrainBike™ could expect to replicate the results of the survey above and would give their clients a cutting-edge technology option to improve their heart and brain at the same time. If you are interested in hearing more about the BrainBike™, contact Motion Fitness at 877-668-4664 or www.motionfitness.com.

Students get Brain brakes by playing 22 different fun and engaging software Exergames.

“What we are doing is giving students the ability to process and improve their memory by playing Exergames. We are not giving them actual material that they are currently studying. We want them to take a break from study, but still be able to improve their Academic success. The efficient workout exercises the body (with a bike) and the Brain (with Neuroactive software) simultaneously through fun game play” adds Dr. Bergeron, Presdint Brain Center of America.

“We see students across the country on every College campus getting a tremendous benefit from the BrainBike. If this product is positioned along with any other piece of Cardio equipment on the floor, students will gravitate to the product that lets them play cool games. The BrainBike Neoractive software program has 22 brain games designed to work different parts of the brain, providing a complete Brain Fitness workout. In addition, they can check their email, chat, and collaborate with others while exercising”. Ed Kasanders, President of Motion Fitness.

The BrainBike is a new breed of exerciser that brings training to the next level. It is the only exerciser in the world that provides a simultaneous brain+body workout for total mind-body fitness. It combines cardio training on a stationary bike to computer-based cognitive training. Each of these 2 workout regimens has been independently proven, in numerous studies, to improve cognition (concentration, memory, processing speed) in different user groups – including students – (references detailed later in this email). For example, training students with on working memory tasks increase cognitive skills, fluid IQ and improves academic performance.” Please visit www.TheBrainBike.com for more information on the BrainBike.

THE NEW NEUROACTIVE BRAINBIKE, WORLD’S FIRST AND ONLY MIND-BODY FITNESS EQUIPMENT, UNVEILED AT TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY

“New Exercise Bike Trains Both Body and Brain for Total Fitness”

College Station, TX – April 6, 2010 – Schools, communities and fitness centers are entering the next lap of the fitness revolution with the new NeuroActive Brain Bike, an exerciser that simultaneously trains the body and the brain, Stephan Bergeron, MD, CEO of Brain Center America (BCA), announced today. The patent-pending bike, engineered by Dr. Bergeron and BCA’s international team of brain specialists, will be unveiled at a press conference hosted by Dr. Bergeron and Ed Kasanders, president of Motion Fitness, at 10:30 a.m. Tues., Apr. 6, at the Texas A&M University – Recreation Center.

The physician-owned BCA, which pioneers brain-fitness programs designed to improve memory, reflexes, concentration, and a complete range of mental abilities, developed the NeuroActive Brain Bike to enable users to combine cardio workouts with brain workouts on what is, literally, a “brain gym.” It comprises a technologically advanced recumbent stationary bike, powered by Gamercize technology, coupled with a specially adapted interactive brain-training program displayed on an all-in-one PC screen.

Users of the NeuroActive Bike may select from 22 brain-stimulating exercises that train different parts of the brain, including: memory, processing speed, 3D visuo-spatial skills, concentration, word naming, arithmetic. As they pedal, they manipulate a wireless mouse to interact with the computer and complete the NeuroActive Program, the only brain-fitness program that uses an advanced artificial intelligence and a series of word problems and visual exercises to train the entire brain and sharpen 18 cognitive functions. NeuroActive is developed by doctors and based on scientific research that proves that brain-training exercises increase cognitive function by 20%, improve processing speed and memory, and sharpen the brain. The Brain Bike includes Gamercize technology, by Motion Fitness, which activates the mouse and allows the use of the brain fitness program only when users are pedaling, fast or slow, at their own pace.

“As part of Motion Fitness’s commitment to offer our customers the best Exergaming equipment and experiences, we are proud to partner with Brain Center America and be the first to introduce in the US the latest technology in stationary bikes and the latest concept for total mind-body fitness,” Mr. Kasanders said. “The NeuroActive BrainBike helps make workouts even more fun and productive.”

Added BCA’s Dr. Bergeron: “We created the NeuroActive Program and the NeuroActive BrainBike to enable people of all ages to boost their brainpower, concentration, keep their brains youthful and energetic and improve their performance in school and sports. The BrainBike, while making workouts more fun, is the ideal way to pump the brain: It provides greater brain stimulation because of the increased flow of nutrient- and oxygen-rich blood delivered to the brain during the cardio training.”

The PC- and Mac-based NeuroActive Program software, which powers the NeuroActive BrainBike, is also frequently used by consumers on their computers at home or the office. It is sold at BCA’s Web site (www.neuroactiveprogram.com), on Amazon.com, and other on- and off-line retailers. Most BCA programs are currently available in English, Spanish and French.
